Octor project.
The objective of this research is to develop and demonstrate a new class of biologically inspired soft robot manipulators. These manipulators, resembling biological trunks and tentacles, will be significantly more versatile and adaptable than conventional robots, capable of adaptive and dynamic manipulation in unstructured environments. This work is a collaboration between researchers from seven universities, featuring expertise across the relevant fields of engineering and biology.
